cruise ships are getting cheaper per person over time, have more space per person than they used to, are higher density than even the densest cities in the world, are quite a nice experience, and have 1/30th of US cities' crime rates

They're even competitive with hotels in London! Despite having to deal with way more complexity

Minimum wage internationally for cruise ships is $666/month (~$3.20/hour)

Diagnosis is that the lack of all nonsense bureaucracy/permitting, NIMBYs, and land scarcity is why these aren't like other housing

(me: but also demand has 10xed so there's probably also some economies of scale / learning curve going on... Housing hasn't done that)
